Accounting and payroll for contractors working in Norway

Norwegian construction sites have strict rules. Every worker must be identifiable, every assignment must be reported, and payroll must be correct from the first day. If anything is missing, workers can be sent off site and the company can be fined.

We help foreign contractors and subcontractors stay compliant, so your team can work.

What we handle

• Registration of your branch (NUF) or company (AS)
• VAT registration
• D-numbers and booking ID checks for your workers
• HSE cards (HMS cards) – ordering, renewals and blocking cards when someone leaves
• Reporting to the Assignment and Employee Register (OAR)
• Payroll, the a-melding and payment of withholding tax
• Timesheets, invoicing and intercompany recharges to your parent company
• Support if the Labour Inspection Authority contacts you

Typical questions we solve

• "Our workers start on site in three weeks – what do we need first?"
• "Can a worker get an HSE card before he has a D-number?" (No – the D-number comes first.)
• "A worker has left – what do we need to do?"
• "How do we charge costs between the UK parent and the Norwegian branch?"

‍

A practical tip

When an employee leaves, the a-melding must show the end date, the employee must be deregistered from the project in the Assignment and Employee Register, and the HSE card must be collected and blocked. We have a routine for this, so nothing is forgotten.
